The Saga of Rain Drop
By Anil Bhattacharya
The Journey of a Pearl
A tiny raindrop, glistening bright,
Rested gently, bathed in light,
Upon a leaf, a verdant bed,
A shining pearl, a world unsaid.
Then, with a shimmy, soft and slow,
Like a small girl, it started to go,
Sliding down, a playful gleam,
Into a world, a flowing dream.
"Little droplet," I softly asked,
"What feelings now, your spirit tasked?"
"Oh," it whispered, with a knowing grace,
"Much work awaits in this wide space."
"I'll quench the thirst of thirsty land,
Make plants rejoice, a happy band.
My purpose clear, my duty true,
Bringing life in shades of hue."
"And where now, friend, do you embark?"
I queried, peering through the dark.
"My friends await," the drop replied,
"To join their journey, side by side."
"We'll merge with rivers, wide and free,
Then onward flow to the vast, deep sea.
A grand reunion, boundless, wide,
With currents strong, we'll softly glide."
"When will you grace us once again?"
I asked, amidst the gentle rain.
"Next rainy season," it declared with cheer,
"You'll find me waiting, right back here."
A final shimmer, a last goodbye,
As the pearl dissolved, beneath the sky.
In an age where our minds are constantly occupied by the unrest and disagreement of the world, we often carry an invisible weight. This frustration isn't just about global events; it is the quiet erosion of our inner peace due to the relentless pressure of the workplace.
By coming together on April 14th, we perform a collective act of healing. We step out of the digital noise and into the physical warmth of community. When we celebrate with family and friends, we are not just passing time—we are recharging our spirits and reconnecting with what truly matters.
Language as a Bridge, Not a Barrier
While our tongues may speak different languages—be it Punjabi, Bengali, or South Indian dialects—the emotion behind a song or a poem is universal. We experience connection beyond words, through shared feeling.
The Goan Mosaic of Harmony
Goa has always symbolized tolerance, but we aspire for something deeper—true integration. Not coexistence, but coexistence with connection. A space where identities blend without losing their essence.
A Declaration of Unity
In a world often shaped by division, such gatherings become quiet declarations—that harmony is possible, and diversity is strength.
